By this we know love that He gave his life His self-sacrifice … the Passion Play Once we who were takers become the receivers A new culture is born in this way
We b'long to new friends in this Spirit of rest No more to be left all alone This family reflects back who we truly are Our identity shifts … once we're home
We all think with God in oneness of heart As we sharpen this skill we have learned To be givers released from what once bound us up And with joy sharing love that's unearned
“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.”
1 John 3:18-20
The Life Model’s research into brain science reveals that we do not come to know our true identity in Christ unless God and others relationally reflect back to us who we are and are to become. (It’s similar to how we have never actually seen our own faces directly.) God has ordained that our identity authentically shifts not only by the application His Word and His Spirit to our hearts and lives, but also by living, relating and loving within His Family. It’s not a shameful thing to confess that we need other people to help us become the people God intends for us to be. These three sources of Life are all necessary and essential for surmounting anything and everything that “condemns” our hearts – traumas, injustices, failures, resentments, enemy strongholds and any/all such blockages and barriers.
